Preventative maintenance

Planned electrical and AC checks that work around your shifts

The best place to find a fault is in the yard, not halfway through a job. We plan electrical and AC checks with you around your rosters, so repairs happen on your schedule.

  • Planned around your shifts
  • Electrical and AC together
  • New machine set-up
  • Rebuilds and parts supply

Find it in the yard, not mid-job

A breakdown mid-job costs more than the repair. You lose the machine, the operator's time and often the crew waiting on it. In summer, a failed AC can stand a machine down just as quickly as a flat battery.

Plenty of electrical and AC failures give a warning first: a battery getting weaker, a hose starting to rub, a system cooling a little less each week. Planned checks give you the chance to catch those signs while the vehicle is parked, and you choose when the repair happens.

How a program works

We start with what you run and how hard it works. Then we agree which checks each vehicle or machine gets, how often, and when it can come off the job.

Visits are planned around your shifts and rosters, with weekend work by arrangement when weekdays are full. AC checks are best done in spring, before the heat arrives, and our pre-summer fleet AC checklist shows the kind of things we look at.

Fitting in with what you already do

If your vehicles already follow a mechanical service schedule, we can line our checks up with it. Each vehicle comes off the road once instead of twice, and your mechanics aren't working around us.

For hire fleets, the gap between hires is the natural time for a check. On civil and mining work, it's before a big job starts or during a planned shutdown, when the machine is parked anyway.

What we check

Every program is set up around your fleet and how it's used. The core checks look like this.

  • AC performance, leaks, condenser condition, belts and hoses
  • Batteries, charging and starting
  • Lights, beacons and accessories
  • Wiring, connectors and earths, especially where they rub or get wet
  • Anything your operators have noticed and reported

New machine set-up, rebuilds and parts

When a new machine arrives, we fit and wire the extras your site needs before it goes to work, from lights and beacons to AI camera detection. It's a cleaner start than adding gear piecemeal once the machine is busy.

When a machine is stripped down for a rebuild, we handle the electrical and AC side, from new looms to AC components. We can also supply any auto electrical parts, plus the AC parts for the work we do, so you're not chasing them separately.

A rebuild is the best chance you'll get to fix wiring that's been patched for years. While everything is accessible, we'll tell you what's worth replacing and what can stay.

Who it's for

Industries we do this for

Business and fleet work only

We work on business vehicles and machinery. No private cars, caravans or boats.

How it works

From first call to back at work

  1. 01

    Tell us what you run

Send us the fleet list: vehicles, machines, how they're used and where they work.

  2. 02

    Agree the plan

We work out the checks, how often they happen and which days each vehicle can come off the job.

  3. 03

    Work through it on site

We come to your depot or site and work through the vehicles in the plan, in the order that suits your work.

  4. 04

    Quote and fix

You get a quote for anything that needs attention, and we book the repair in when it suits you.

FAQs

Questions about preventative maintenance

Something not covered here? Call 0400 554 024 and ask.

How often should our vehicles be checked?

It depends on the hours they do and the conditions they work in. A machine on a dusty site needs more attention than a ute doing highway runs. We'll suggest a starting point and adjust it as we get to know your fleet.

Can the checks happen on weekends?

Yes, by arrangement. For a lot of fleets that's the easiest way to get through the checks without losing vehicles during the working week.

Do we need separate contractors for electrical and AC?

No. We do both, so one visit covers the aircon and the electrical checks on each vehicle. That's one contractor to book and one number to call.

What if you find something urgent during a check?

We'll tell you straight away and quote it on the spot where we can. If a vehicle shouldn't go back to work, we'll say so.

What if something fails between checks?

Call us like any other breakdown and we'll work out when we can get to it. If the same fault keeps turning up, we'll look at whether the checks need to change.

Can a program cover machinery as well as vehicles?

Yes. A program can include utes, trucks and plant, with checks suited to each. Any bigger truck and machinery AC repairs we find along the way are quoted before we start.
