Plant and equipment hire

Electrical and AC work that keeps hire machines out earning

Every day a machine sits in the yard waiting on a repair is a day it isn't on hire. We check the AC before machines go out, fix the faults your hirers ring about, and get new gear set up and ready to send.

  • AC checks between hires
  • Call-outs to hirers' sites
  • New machine set-up
  • AI cameras and harnesses

What goes wrong

The problems we hear about most

01

Tight turnarounds

A machine comes back on Friday and it's booked out again Monday. If the AC or the electrics need work, there's no time to send it away.

02

Hot-cab phone calls

In summer, weak aircon is a phone call waiting to happen. If it isn't picked up in the yard, it turns into a call-out on someone else's site.

03

Faults the hirer finds first

A dead beacon, a camera with no picture, a machine that won't start after lunch. Each one means a call-out, a frustrated customer and maybe a machine coming back early.

04

New gear that isn't ready

New machines often need beacons, cameras and accessories before they can go out. Until that's done, it's money sitting still in your yard.

Common jobs

What we do for plant and equipment hire fleets

Pre-hire AC checks

AC checked, leak tested and regassed as needed between hires, so the machine leaves your yard blowing cold.

Hirer fault call-outs

We go to the machine on your customer's job and sort the fault there wherever we can.

New machine set-up

Beacons, cameras, lighting and accessories fitted before a new machine joins the hire fleet.

AI detection cameras

Detection cameras fitted for customers who want them, alerting the operator to people close by.

Braided harnesses

Chafed or chewed looms repaired, or replaced with a custom braided harness.

Machine AC repairs

Compressors, condensers, evaporators and valves, for the machines where a regas won't fix it.

AC checks before machines go back out

It's better to find a weak AC in your yard than to hear about it from a hirer on a 38-degree day. We can check machines as they come back in, regas the ones that need it and quote repairs on the rest, so each one is ready for its next hire.

If you'd rather not leave it to chance each summer, a preventative maintenance program puts electrical and AC checks across the fleet on a regular plan. For bigger repairs, see truck and machinery AC.

When a hirer rings with a fault

Your customer is on site with a machine that's playing up, and they want it fixed, not explained. Because we're mobile, we can head straight to their job and work on the machine where it's parked.

That can save you floating a replacement out and the broken machine back. We'll also tell you what we found and, where it's clear, what caused it.

New machine set-up, cameras and harnesses

New machines usually need a few things before they're ready for hire: beacons, cameras and the accessories your customers expect. We fit them at your yard, so the machine can go out as soon as it's ready.

Some customers will want AI detection cameras on the machine, and we supply and install those too. They alert the operator when a person is detected around the machine, which helps reduce risk on busy sites.

Hire gear takes hard use from a lot of different operators, and the wiring takes its share. When a harness is beyond repair, we can make up a custom braided harness with a quick turnaround, so the machine is back on hire sooner.

FAQs

Questions from plant and equipment hire fleets

Something not covered here? Call 0400 554 024 and ask.

Can you check AC on machines between hires?

Yes. Tell us what's coming back in and when it's going out again, and we'll get through them in your yard. Anything that needs more than a regas gets quoted before we start.

Will you go out to a hirer's site?

Yes. Give us the machine, the site address and a contact there, and we'll go to it. If the site has its own entry requirements, let us know when you book.

Can you set up new machines before they go on hire?

Yes. Beacons, cameras, lighting and accessories go on at your yard, before the machine's first hire. Tell us what your customers usually ask for and we'll fit to that.

Do you do weekend work?

Yes, by arrangement. That helps when a machine comes back on Friday and has to go out again on Monday morning.

Where should we start?

Book an AC check on the next few machines due out. You'll see how we work, and we'll tell you about anything else we spot on each machine.

Machines due back this week?

Send us the list of machines due back and their next hire dates. We'll work out the timing and send you a quote.
