Earthmoving electrical and AC repairs, done at the job

Dozers, graders, excavators, loaders and tippers earn their keep on site, not on a float. We bring the gear to the machine and fix the AC or electrical fault where it's working.

  • Repairs done at the job
  • AC for dusty, hot cabs
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Custom braided harnesses

What goes wrong

The problems we hear about most

01

Dust in everything

Earthmoving cabs live in dust. It packs into condensers, clogs filters and works its way into plugs and connectors, until the aircon or the electrics start playing up mid-job.

02

AC that quits in summer

A cab that won't cool turns a ten-hour shift into an endurance test. It always seems to happen in the hottest week, when every machine is booked and there's nothing spare to swap into.

03

Faults that come and go

The machine runs fine in the yard, then drops out on site after lunch. Intermittent faults take patience and proper testing to find, not a guess and a new part.

04

Harness damage

Wiring on earthmoving gear gets rubbed through, cooked near the engine, crushed and snagged. One damaged section of harness can stop a machine as surely as a mechanical failure.

Common jobs

What we do for civil and earthmoving fleets

Machine AC repairs

Failed compressors, condensers and evaporators replaced on site, along with driers and TX valves.

Flush, vacuum and regas

After a compressor failure or contamination, the system is flushed, vacuumed, leak tested and recharged to spec.

Electrical fault finding

Starting, charging, lighting and wiring faults traced back to the cause and fixed.

Harness repairs and replacements

Damaged looms repaired, or a custom braided harness built when the old one is past saving.

Tipper electrics and AC

The trucks on your job get the same attention as the plant: cab aircon, lights and wiring.

Beacons, lights and cameras

New machine set-up and add-ons, including Proxicam AI cameras that flag nearby people to the operator.

We come to the machine

Floating a dozer back to a workshop for an aircon fault costs you the float, the downtime and usually the rest of the day. A lot of electrical and AC work can be done where the machine is working, so that's where we do it.

Tell us what the machine is, where it is and what it's doing. We'll come out, find the fault and fix it on site wherever we can, so the operator is back in the seat sooner.

Keeping machine AC going in dust and heat

Machine AC works harder than anything in a car. Dust, vibration and long hours wear compressors, rub through hoses and choke condensers, and a small leak in winter becomes a flat system by summer. Our post on dust, vibration and machinery AC explains why.

We repair or replace the parts that have failed, flush systems that have been contaminated, then vacuum and regas to spec. Before we pack up, we check the cab is actually cooling. There's more detail on our truck and machinery AC page.

Electrical faults and damaged harnesses

Earthmoving electrics take a beating, and the fault often only shows up once the machine is under load or bouncing across the site. We trace it back to the cause rather than throwing parts at it, so you're not paying for the same fault twice.

If the loom can't be saved, a custom braided harness can replace it, with a quick turnaround. For everything else electrical, see auto electrical.

FAQs

Questions from civil and earthmoving fleets

Something not covered here? Call 0400 554 024 and ask.

What if you can't fix it on the day?

Sometimes a part has to be ordered. When that happens, you'll know which part it is and roughly when it'll land, and we'll come back to fit it.

Do you work on our tippers as well as the plant?

Yes. Cab AC, lighting, wiring and electrical faults on the trucks, the same as the machines. One contractor for both means one less number to chase.

Can you work around the job?

Yes. Tell us when the machine can be stopped, whether that's smoko, knock-off or a weekend, and we'll fit in. Weekend work is by arrangement.

What areas do you cover?

Civil jobs across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley, including Cessnock, Singleton and Muswellbrook. If the job's in that patch, we can get to it.

What's a good first job?

Pick a machine or two and let us check the AC before summer. While we're there, we'll go over each one for electrical faults and wear, and quote anything else that needs doing.

Got a machine sitting idle on site?

Send through the machine and the site details, or ring us. We'll be upfront about how soon we can get out to it.
